Brief news stories from Las Vegas, NevadaLAS VEGAS, Nevada - The owner of a Las Vegas, Nevada striptease club is suing police, claiming Nevada officers conducted an illegal search of his business two years ago.
Rick Rizzolo filed a federal lawsuit Tuesday alleging "a malicious campaign of lies and unlawful acts" by Las Vegas police officers who obtained a search warrant for the Oct. 4, 2001, raid at his Crazy Horse Too Gentlemen's Club.
The suit seeks at least $10,000 in punitive damages from the department and Sgt. Al Cervantes, Detective Robert Rogers and Officer Erick Wilds.
Nevada police said they were investigating a Kansas City man's claim that he received a neck injury in a beating by a club bouncer following a dispute over a bill in September 2001.
Henry has a civil suit against the club that is expected to go to trial in February. The club maintained that Henry was found on the ground outside the club, and that club employees helped him.
Rizzolo's lawsuit alleges that Henry was drunk and didn't know who hit him, and that a cab driver at the scene reported that he saw Henry fall to the ground.
